![]() *1: some time ago we had a post were differences came out when encoding with Aften and Vegas to AC3. If you do separate the stereo into mono, each bus containing a mono stream should be set to "Bus # (Mono Dowinmix)". If you don't separate the stereo tracks, use "Bus #", as buses are stereo. Also, the "enable multichannel mapping" must be checked in order to enable the custom mapping. Is just a matter of asigning a bus for each separate audio track, as shown in the picture by the letter in each track. If you select multichannel WAV on output, you can get the 7ch WAV. The 5.1 Surround Pan config is only used in 5.1 output streams, such as Dolby Digital or WMA output. As I said, Vegas 7 can output the 7 channels. in some way might operate) just to have to mux CS back to SL and SR again. Muxing the CS with SL and SR would be a pointless action, as you could just use a 5.1 config for VI and spare yourself having to upmix from SL and SR to SL, SR and CS (as I believe the V.I. (Don't mind the Pan settings, they´re a by-product of the project being a Surround one).Īnout the center surround, Vegas 7 comes with multichannel WAV output support up to 32 streams, so you can get the 7 channels mapped. At least, after I disabled it, the filters were no longer loaded by default. Apparently, disabling the "Smooth and thin automation data after recording or drawing" option in the Preferences -> External control & Automation tab, seems to get rid of that default behaviour. Don´t know why but Vegas applies by default 3 chained filters to every new audio track: a Noise Gate, an EQ and a Compressor, I think, which you won´t want screwing around with your sound, so you should disable them (*1). It means filters are active on that track. In your case, I would strip the stereo waves into mono (FL-FR and SL-SR), just to have separate control over each mono streams, in case I want to apply further filtering.Īlso, pay attention to this. It will save you from the hassle of waiting for realtime decoding and recording. That´s what I would recommend you to do (if you want to transcode anyway). If you still want to transcode to DD5.1, my method is to use BeHappy to transcode from DTS to WAV, then encode to AC3 with Aften. So, whenever you listen to the DTS track in a 6ch system, the RC is already muxed within the surround channels. DTS-ES tracks are designed to send the extra channel (RC) to SL and SR when decoded by standard non-ES decoders. ![]() ![]() When using ASIO4ALL in Vegas, the only input I get is 2ch, but that might be only with my particular soundcard.Īnyway, if you have a 6ch soundcard, then you don´t need to do ASIO recording to decode that DTS-ES track. realtek HD audio input 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8).Īre you sure it´s 8ch input? cause i´ve run into this confusion myself. In Adobe Audition in the Audio Hardware Setup window when i select ASIO4ALL v2 as audio driver it shows 8 mono ports for input(In Vegas it shows 4 stereo inputs ie. ![]()
